เมื่อวันที่ ๑๕ ตุลาคม ๒๕๕๘ นายดำรง ใคร่ครวญ เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงกัวลาลัมเปอร์ ได้เข้าเยี่ยมคารวะดาโต๊ะเซรี รีซัลเมอริกัน บิน ไนนาเมอริกัน รัฐมนตรีช่วยว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศมาเลเซีย เพื่อแนะนำตัวในโอกาสเข้ารับหน้าที่  ทั้งสองได้หารือกันเกี่ยวกับประเด็นที่อยู่ในความสนใจของทั้งสองฝ่าย อาทิ การเสริมสร้างกลไลในการขยายความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างสองประเทศ การส่งเสริมการลงทุนระหว่างกัน ความร่วมมือเพื่อรับมือกับปัญหาหมอกควันจากไฟป่าในประเทศเพื่อนบ้าน และการโยกย้ายถิ่นฐานอย่างไม่ปกติในภูมิภาค

 

On 15 October 2015, H.E. Mr. Damrong Kraikruan, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, paid a courtesy call on Y.B. Datuk Seri Reezal Merican bin Naina Merican, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, to introduce himself upon taking up his duty in Kuala Lumpur. On this occasion, the two had an opportunity to exchange views on topics of mutual interests, for example, the strengthening of mechanisms to promote cooperation, investment promotion, irregular migration in the region, as well as the haze situation that affected both Thailand and Malaysia.
