เมื่อวันที่ ๑๓ สิงหาคม ๒๕๕๘ นายดำรง ใคร่ครวญ เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงกัวลาลัมเปอร์ ได้เข้าเยี่ยมคารวะดาโต๊ะอัซมัน มาห์มูด ประธานเจ้าหน้าที่บริหารองค์กรพัฒนาการลงทุนแห่งมาเลเซีย ("ไมดา") เพื่อแนะนำตัวในโอกาสเข้ารับหน้าที่ ทั้งสองได้หารือและแลกเปลี่ยนข้อคิดเห็นกันเกี่ยวกับสภาวะเศรษฐกิจและการลงทุนในไทยและมาเลเซีย และแนวทางการส่งเสริมการลงทุนระหว่างกันให้มากขึ้น โดยเอกอัครราชทูตฯ ยังได้แนะนำเกี่ยวกับบทบาทของสภาธุรกิจไทย-มาเลเซีย และการจัดตั้งเขตเศรษฐกิจพิเศษของไทย ซึ่งเป็นโอกาสที่สำคัญของภาคเอกชนมาเลเซียที่จะเข้าไปลงทุนในประเทศไทยด้วย

 

On 13 August 2015, H.E. Mr. Damrong Kraikruan, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, paid a courtesy call on Y.Bhg. Dato' Azman Mahmud, Chief Executive Officer of Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), to introduce himself upon taking up his duty in Kuala Lumpur. The two had an opportunity to exchange views on the states of the economy in Thailand and Malaysia and ways to promote mutual investment. On this occasion, H.E. the Ambassador also mentioned about the role of the Thai-Malaysian Business Council and the decision of the Royal Thai Government to set up special economic zones, especially in Songkhla, which is going to be an important opportunity for Malaysian businesses who wish to make investment in Thailand.
