เมื่อวันที่ 6 มกราคม 2559 นายดำรง ใคร่ครวญ เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงกัวลาลัมเปอร์ ได้เข้าเยี่ยมคารวะนายทรงพล สวาสดิ์ธรรม ผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดสงขลา เพื่อหารือเกี่ยวกับประเด็นความร่วมมือบริเวณพื้นที่ชายแดนฝั่งตะวันตกระหว่างไทยกับมาเลเซีย ในโอกาสนี้ เอกอัครราชทูตฯ ได้มีโอกาสแลกเปลี่ยนข้อมูลและข้อคิดเห็นกับผู้ว่าราชการฯ และผู้แทนส่วนราชการต่าง ๆ ในจังหวัดสงขลาเกี่ยวกับการส่งเสริมการค้าและการลงทุนระหว่างไทยกับมาเลเซีย การส่งเสริมอุตสาหกรรมยางพาราและกิจการฮาลาล รวมถึงการส่งเสริมความเชื่อมโยงระหว่างสองประเทศ

 

On 6 January 2015, H.E. Mr. Damrong Kraikruan, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, paid a courtesy call on Mr. Songon Sawadtham, Governor of Songkhla Province. On this occasion, H.E. the Ambassador had an opportunity to exchange information and views with the Governor and representatives of the public agencies in the Province on topics relating to Thai-Malaysian cooperation, including the strengthening of border trade, investment in halal and rubber-related industries, and enhancement of border connectivity.
