Press Release : Statement on the Summit between the Honourable Donald J. Trump, President of the United States of America and His Excellency Kim Jong-un, Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, held in Singapore, 12 June 2018:

Thailand welcomes the historic meeting of the leaders of the US and the DPRK in Singapore on 12 June 2018. This epoch-making summit reflects the strong commitment of the two leaders to achieve sustained peace, stability and prosperity on the Korean Peninsula with denuclearization as the key step.

As we warmly laud this noble commitment, it is our ardent hope that all parties concerned will exert their utmost efforts in attaining these significant goals for the benefits of the region and the world. Like all others, we look forward to the progress and stand ready to render support in any way we can.

Thailand praises Singapore for hosting this U.S.-DPRK Summit.

ไทยยินดีต่อการพบหารือครั้งแรกในประวัติศาสตร์ระหว่างผู้นำสหรัฐอเมริกากับผู้นำสาธารณรัฐประชาธิปไตยประชาชนเกาหลี (เกาหลีเหนือ) ที่สิงคโปร์ เมื่อวันที่ ๑๒ มิถุนายน ๒๕๖๑ ซึ่งการประชุมครั้งสำคัญนี้สะท้อนเจตนารมณ์ของผู้นำทั้งสองที่จะบรรลุสันติภาพ ความมั่นคง และความรุ่งเรืองอย่างยั่งยืนบนคาบสมุทรเกาหลีที่ปราศจากอาวุธนิวเคลียร์

ไทยขอยกย่องความตั้งใจจริงของทั้งสองฝ่าย และหวังเป็นอย่างยิ่งว่า ทุกฝ่ายที่เกี่ยวข้องจะใช้ความพยายามอย่างยิ่งยวดที่จะบรรลุเป้าหมายสำคัญนี้เพื่อผลประโยชน์ของภูมิภาคและโลก ทั้งนี้ เช่นเดียวกับประเทศอื่น ๆ ไทยหวังว่าจะเห็นพัฒนาการคืบหน้าต่อไป และพร้อมให้การสนับสนุนในทุกวิถีทาง

ไทยขอแสดงความชื่นชมสิงคโปร์ในการเป็นเจ้าภาพจัดการประชุมระหว่างสหรัฐฯ กับเกาหลีเหนือในครั้งนี้ด้วย
