On 7 November 2019, Ambassador Narong and Ms. Chantana Sasitorn along with Mr. Gonzalo Duarte Silva, General Manager of Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur presided over the opening ceremony of “A Taste of Chiang Mai”, a northern Thai food festival at the Lemon Garden, Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.  Among distinguished guests were H.E. Houmdaophone Soukhaseum, Ambassador of the Lao People's Democratic Republic to Malaysia, and his spouse.

 

The special event also coincides with Thailand’s Loy Krathong festival, or Thai festival of lights, where people sail candle-lit banana leaf boats down the rivers to show their respect and gratitude to the rivers which are their traditional source of livelihood. 

 

The special buffet dinner “A Taste of Chiang Mai”, Loy Krathong festival will run from 7 – 17 November 2019 at the Lemon Garden, Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.
