On 4 February 2025, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, was invited to attend Malaysia ASEAN Chairmanship 2025 Briefing Session, organised by the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), Malaysia at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. YB Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, MITI Minister, delivered his foreword, whereby YB Liew Chin Tong, MITI Deputy Minister as well as Ambassadors/High Commissioners and representatives from the ASEAN Embassies/High Commissions and others in Malaysia were present.

 

The Briefing aimed to share Malaysia’s vision, priorities and plans during Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship 2025 under the Economic Pillar, which is under the purview of MITI. It highlighted Malaysia’s intention to foster regional economic integration and promote economic connectivity through trade, investment, energy transition, sustainable development as well as resilient digital ASEAN, among others.
