On 18 August 2025, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia was invited to attend the 57th Annual Dinner of the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturing (FMM) at Sunway Resort Hotel, Selangor Darul Ehsan, and well received by Tan Sri Dato’ Soh Thian Lai, FMM’s President and his team. The event was well attended by a large number of foreign Ambassadors, public and private sector representatives, members and partners of the FMM. Effective March 20, 2025, the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers has officially changed its name to the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturing in respond to the changing landscape of Malaysian industry, which has broadened its scope and highlighted on inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
Ambassador Lada congratulated the FMM for its continued success under the leadership of Tan Sri Dato’ Soh Thian Lai and the work of the FMM team. She took this opportunity to meet with Malaysian and foreign representatives, as well as FMM’s partners who also attended the event.
At the event, President of the FMM delivered his address on the FMM’s vision, mission and deliberation on 2024-2025. YB Steven Sim Chee Keong, Minister of Human Resources of Malaysia and YB Gobind Singh Deo, Minister of Digital of Malaysia, were special guests and delivered their respective addresses, while special VDO Keynote Address by YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia was shown. All emphasized an important role of the FMM to Malaysian economy in light of challenging geopolitics. In fact, manufacture could include manufacturing in future sector, strategic sector of high valued technology, with innovation and digital, creating qualified job and talented personnel, etc.
