H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, joined informal discussion sessions between ASEAN Ambassadors to Malaysia and the Pacific Alliance and EU Ambassadors on 17 and 19 June 2025 at the Official Residence of Ambassador of Mexico, H.E. Mr. Luis Javier Campuzano Pina, and the Singapore High Commission of H.E. Mr. Vanu Gopala Menon in Kuala Lumpur respectively.
 
The get-together dinner between ASEAN Ambassadors and their representatives with the Pacific Alliance Ambassadors, comprising the Ambassadors of Colombia as the current Pro-Tempore President, Chile, Mexico and Peru was held on 17 June 2025 in an amicable atmosphere, whereby the developments and visions of the Pacific Alliance in engaging with ASEAN were highlighted. Ambassador Lada informed of Thailand’s position as one of the observer states from the Asia and Oceania of its interest to enhance economic cooperation, particularly among both sides’ MSMEs in the supply chain, sustainable development and people-to-people connectivity. Ambassador Haznah binti Md Hashim, Undersecretary of America Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia was also present.
 
On 19 June 2025, almost 30 participants consisting of ASEAN and EU Ambassadors or their representatives participated in the ASEAN-EU informal lunch, whereby Dato’ Zanariah Zainal Abidin, Director-General ASEAN and Ambassador Abu Bakar bin Mamat, Undersecretary of Europe Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia were also in presence. The gathering was constructive, aiming to further strengthen ASEAN-EU relations. Ambassador Lada reflected Thailand’s readiness to welcome the EU’s further cooperation with the ASEAN Centre for Sustainable Development Studies and Dialogue (ACSDSD) in Bangkok, as Thailand is the ASEAN Coordinator for Sustainable Cooperation.
