On 15 April 2025 at 11.45 hrs., H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, went to the Masjid Negara in Kuala Lumpur to attend the State Funeral of H.E. Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, the 5th Prime Minister of Malaysia, who passed away in the evening of 14 April 2025.

 

The Ambassador paid respect to the late Prime Minister of Malaysia, while expressing heartfelt condolences to his family and the people of Malaysia for this great loss.

 

On the same day, the Royal Thai Government by H.E. Paetongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister of Thailand, conveyed a message to YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia; and H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, conveyed a message to YB Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Mohamad bin Haji Hasan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, expressing condolences on the passing of H.E. Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who played an important role on the advancement of Thailand – Malaysia relations, especially in the promotion of development in the border areas between the two countries.
