On 30 August 2024, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia hosted a dinner and meeting with foreign ambassadors to Malaysia, namely H.E. Air Chief Marshal Dabare Liyanage Sumangala Dias, the Ambassador of Sri Lanka, H.E. Ouk Chandara, the Ambassador of Cambodia, H.E. Dinh Ngoc Linh, the Ambassador of Vietnam, H.E. Lisualdo Menezes Coimbra Gaspar, the Ambassador of Timor Leste, H.E. Thepthavone Sengmany, the Ambassador-designate of Lao PDR, and H.E. Aung Soe Win, the Ambassador-designate of Myanmar, with participation of their respective spouses, at the Thai Residence.
Ambassador Lada expressed her appreciation to the Ambassadors and their spouses for their continuous cooperation and support to various activities recently hosted by the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur such as the official launch of the Thai Film Festival in Malaysia 2024 (TFF 2024) on 13 August 2024 at Aurum Theatre, The Exchange TRX, the ASEAN Ladies Circle (ALC) in Kuala Lumpur’s activities including “The Taste of Thai” at Malai Thai Cuisine on 28 June 2024, and ALC Bazaar at AIRASIA REDQUARTERS (REDQ) which was successful held in conjunction with the ASEAN Day 2024, etc.
The Ambassador welcomed and congratulated the Ambassadors of Timor Leste and the Lao PDR for their appointment as the new Ambassadors to Malaysia, thanked for a cordial friendship of the Ambassador of Cambodia, Vietnam and Myanmar. Meanwhile, all the Ambassadors took this opportunity to exchange information on related high level bilateral visits, the development in ASEAN, and Malaysia’s preparedness in assuming ASEAN Chairmanship in 2025 and expressed their readiness in cooperating with Malaysia, the host country, to further strengthen ASEAN and for ASEAN to remain a robust, dynamic and successful Community.
This informal gathering was indeed fruitful. It has helped further enhancing close relations among all for future cooperation. Everyone also enjoyed the taste of Thai food and dessert, and thanked for a warm Thai hospitality.
