On 20 January 2026, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, was invited to attend the Launch Ceremony of the National Education Plan (RPN) 2026 - 2035 at Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC), Putrajaya, co-organised by the Ministry of Higher Education and the Ministry of Education of Malaysia. Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia, presided over and delivered the launching address of the RPN.
 
The event was well-attended by Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid bin Hamidi and Datuk Amar Haji Fadillah bin Haji Yusof, Deputy Prime Ministers; Dato’ Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry bin Abd. Kadir, Minister of Higher Education; H.E. Fadhlina Sidek, Minister of Education; along with foreign ambassadors and representatives from foreign embassies in Malaysia, government officials, private sector, faculty members, students and media totaling more than 2,000 participants.
 
The Prime Minister underscored the Madani Government’s commitment to enhancing the country’s education system, grounded in Malaysia’s national identity, values and culture, while simultaneously preparing the nation to face the challenges of a rapidly changing world. The RPN aims to nurture graduates as “nation builders” with clear purpose, adaptability and a strong commitment to universal human values. It also integrates technology, innovation and artificial intelligence (AI) as key driving forces in curricula and research, with the goal of producing future technology innovators.
 
On this occasion, the Ambassador expressed her congratulations to Prime Minister Anwar, Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, Minister of Communications of Malaysia and representatives from the relevant Malaysian government and academic sectors.
 
The RPN will provide Thai students in Malaysia with opportunities to develop their knowledge and skills in academics, technology, innovation, and AI. It also offers training in the Malay language, cross-cultural experiences, and the chance to enhance their potential, in order to returning home to contribute constructively to the development of their communities.
