On 27 January 2026, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, attended Tea & Ties: Forging Educational Futures Together at the Royal Chulan Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, at the invitation of Mrs. Fadhlina Sidek, Minister of Education of Malaysia.

 

Organised by the Ministry of Education of Malaysia, the event aimed to strengthen international cooperation in education and provide a platform for representatives from ministries of education, educational institutions, and foreign embassies in Malaysia to network and enhance collaboration. The event was officiated by the Minister of Education of Malaysia and attended by over 200 participants, including ambassadors, diplomatic representatives, and guests from the public and private sectors as well as educational institutions.

 

On this occasion, Ambassador Lada congratulated the Minister of Education of Malaysia on the successful organising of the event and the launch of Malaysia’s National Education Plan 2026–2035. The Ambassador also exchanged views on advancing bilateral educational cooperation, including the Princess Maha Chakri Award (PMCA) Teacher Programme, the promotion of welfare and educational opportunities for Thai students in Malaysia, and the negotiation of a Memorandum of Understanding on Educational Cooperation between Thailand and Malaysia.
