On 21 June 2023, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia presided over the opening ceremony of the Laem Charoen Seafood restaurant under the MK Restaurants Group at Pavilion, Kuala Lumpur. H.E. Lada was welcome by Mr. Rit Thirakomen, CEO and Chairman of the MK Restaurants Group together with Mr. Athorn Wongweerathorn and Mrs. Naruemon Wongweerathorn, co-founders of the Laem Charoen Seafood restaurant and Mr. Tan Boon Seng, Chairman of Dragon-I Group, the Group’s business partner.

          H.E. Lada congratulated the Executives of the MK Restaurants Group and co-founders of the Laem Charoen Seafood restaurant on the milestone achievement in opening the first Laem Charoen Seafood restaurant in Malaysia, which is also its first overseas outlet. On this occasion, H.E. Lada expressed the Royal Thai Embassy’s and Team Thailand in Malaysia’s continued support for Thai businesses and the Laem Charoen Seafood restaurants in Malaysia. H.E. Lada commended that the opening of the Laem Charoen Seafood restaurant in Malaysia would bring authentic Thai seafood flavours closer to our Malaysian Friends of Thailand and further strengthen the close ties and exchange of visits among Thais and Malaysians.
