On 29 August 2024, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia was invited by Amari Kuala Lumpur to officiate the opening of “Flavours of Thailand”, Thai food festival at Amaya Food Gallery restaurant, whereby Mr. Piyachart Puttawong or Chef Boy, Michelin Star Chef from ChomSindh restaurant at Amari Bangkok was invited to showcase Thai signature dishes.

 

The Ambassador received a warm welcome by Ms. Susan Anthony, General Manager and the Amari Kuala Lumpur team. Also present were members of Thai chefs in Malaysia, members of Thai Club and the media.

 

In this regard, Ambassador Lada congratulated the Amari Kuala Lumpur, managed by ONYX Hospitality Group from Thailand, on its achievements and the “Flavours of Thailand”, which was organised for the first time. She reiterated the Royal Thai Government’s and the Embassy’s commitment to promote Thainess overseas in 5 sectors or 5F: Food, Films, Fight, Festivals, Fashion. She also expressed the Embassy’s readiness to provide unwavering support for Thai businesses in Malaysia.

 

The “Flavours of Thailand” will take place during 1 September-31 October 2024. For those interested to meet Chef Boy, do drop by during 1-8 September 2024. The Amari Hotels in Malaysia are located in Johor Bahru, Kuala Lumpur and Penang.
