On 25 February 2026, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, paid a courtesy call on Dato Lukanisman bin Awang Sauni, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, to congratulate him on his new appointment, at the Parliament of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur.

 

Both sides exchanged information and views on Thailand - Malaysia bilateral relations, including cooperation in trade and investment, connectivity, energy, the halal industry and agriculture, security and cross-border crime, public health, and the situation in Thailand’s Southern Border Provinces. They also discussed developments concerning Thailand - Cambodia situation and Thailand’s related positions, as well as mutual support in international organizations.

 

The discussion was conducted in a cordial atmosphere, with both sides reaffirmed their readiness to work closely together and to strengthen Thailand - Malaysia collaboration, as well as the longstanding cordial relations between the Royal Thai Embassy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, with a view to further strengthening and enhancing relations for the mutual benefit of the peoples of both countries.
