On 27 April 2023, Miss Lada Phumas, Ambassador, presided over an event entitled “A Million Smile with Thanks to Malaysians” organised by Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Kuala Lumpur Office at Berjaya Times Square Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. H.E. Lada delivered remarks expressing Thailand’s appreciation to Malaysian tourism business partners, including tour operators, airlines, hotels, members of media, for their contributions and unwavering support in promoting Thai tourism to the Malaysian market. H.E. Lada commended on the success of collective efforts in welcoming one million Malaysian national arrival to Thailand during the first four months of this year.

 

 

          H.E. Lada also took this opportunity to express Thailand’s appreciation for Malaysia’s strong support for the Bangkok Goals on Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) adopted during Thailand’s hosting of APEC last year. In addition, H.E. Lada mentioned that Thailand is looking forward to Malaysia Government’s support for Thailand’s candidature to host the Specialised Expo – Phuket 2028 under the theme “Future of Life: Living in Harmony, Sharing Prosperity” of which election will take place in this upcoming June in Paris. On this note, H.E. Lada expressed Thailand’s confidence that the Expo will help facilitate and further stimulate regional travels, trade and investment activities in the wider Asia-Pacific region.
