On 1 May 2023, Miss Lada Phumas, Ambassador, received a courtesy call by Mr. Supanai Chandanavase, Managing Director, SCG International (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., at the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur on the occasion of H.E. Lada’s assumption of duty as the Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia. H.E. Lada discussed and exchanged information on the developments of the SCG businesses in Malaysia. H.E. Lada recalled the good cooperation between the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Shanghai and the SCG during her previous capacity as Consul-General in Shanghai to showcase Thai businesses with the potential to collaborate with businesses in China and the Yangtze River integrated economic region, which is considered a region with the most economic potential in China. On this note, H.E. Lada expressed her readiness to continue the Embassy’s support for Thai businesses in Malaysia and expressed the Embassy’s appreciation for the SCG’s continued cooperation.
Mr. Supanai informed H.E. Lada of the SCG International (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd.’s focus on trading and delivery of End-to-End customer service throughout the supply chain, of which products include the industrial and building materials products; namely, structural steel, SCG Roof Tiles, SCG Fiber, Cement Board and Alumina Tri-Hydrate (ATH). Mr. Supanai emphasized the company’s commitment to addressing the global sustainability agenda, for example, the use of palm kernel shells from palm oil waste to replace fossil fuels, and also briefed on the company’s business expansion plan to Sabah and Sarawak.
The discussion was cordial and productive with exchange of latest developments on the SCG’s operation in Malaysia. The Embassy will continue its support for the SCG businesses in Malaysia.
