On 20 August 2025, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, received a courtesy call from Mr. Sorapong Sriyanong, Security Advisor on Security Cooperation and Acting Deputy Secretary-General of the National Security Council (NSC), and his delegation, during their official visit to Malaysia on 20 - 23 August 2025. Colonel Apichai Warunee, Minister Counsellor (Police), and Mr. Chatchawan Worrakajohnwirat, Minister Counsellor, also joined the meeting.
 
The Ambassador held discussions and exchanged views with the Security Advisor on Security Cooperation and Acting Deputy Secretary-General of the NSC on Thai - Malaysian cooperation in the areas of security and border management, as well as economic development between the two countries, particularly in southern Thailand and northern Malaysia. They also discussed the situation in Thailand’s southern border provinces, especially Malaysia’s perspectives and possible approaches to further promoting cooperation.
 
The Ambassador reaffirmed the commitment of Team Thailand in Malaysia to supporting the missions of the NSC. The Royal Thai Embassy and Team Thailand will continue to actively coordinate with security agencies of both Thailand and Malaysia for the benefit of the two countries and their peoples.
