On 1 September 2024, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, was invited to the 6th anniversary celebration event of Sushi Hibiki Kuala Lumpur under the theme “Echo in the Night: Anniversary Special” held from 31 August to 8 September 2024, whereby foreign ambassadors and special guests were also present.

 

Ambassador Lada congratulated Mr. Chaichat Noprapa (Chef Randy), a renowned Thai chef from Fillets in Bangkok who pioneered the Omakase restaurant in Thailand and has so far received international recognition. Chef Randy joined leading Japanese chefs from Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, Australia, and Japan to curate Thai-style sushi as part of the endeavour to promote quality and standard of Thai chefs on the global stage. Furthermore, the Ambassador also highlighted the Embassy’s commitment to pursuing Gastrodiplomacy, advancing Thai food industry and Thai chefs on the World’s culinary stage, thereby contributing to the growth of the Thai economy.
