On 28 August 2024, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia welcomed a courtesy call by H.E. Mr. Luis Javier Campuzano Piña, Ambassador of Mexico to Malaysia, at the Embassy.

 

The two Ambassadors exchanged views and information on bilateral relations between Thailand – Mexico, as this year the two nations jointly celebrate the 49th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations, and current political and economic developments as both countries are anticipating the formation of their respective cabinets, as well as ways to enhance cooperation with the host country, particularly under Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2025. Besides responding to Ambassador Luis’s query regarding issues in focus of ASEAN member states, Ambassador Lada also shared useful information, notably the ASEAN Vision, regional political and security issues, non-traditional security, digital economy and people-to-people connectivity, as well as ASEAN relations with dialogue partners under ASEAN-led mechanisms.

 

The meeting was cordial, and helped strengthen good relations between the two Ambassadors and embassies. Both sides are committed to forge closer cooperation with the host country, and be at one’s disposal to share thoughts and experiences, while working closely during their tenure in Malaysia.
