On 10 February 2026, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, welcomed a courtesy call by Vice Admiral Tepparit Laplua, Commander of the 2nd Naval Area and the Royal Thai Navy delegation, on the occasion of Vice Admiral Tepparit’s visit to Malaysia during 9 - 12 February 2026 to co-chair the 84th Malaysia - Thailand Combined Marine Working Group (CMWG) Meeting in Selangor, with Rear Admiral Azman bin Rabani, Commander of Royal Malaysian Navy’s Naval Area 1.
 
The Ambassador discussed and exchanged views on cooperation between the Royal Thai Navy and the Royal Malaysian Navy, particularly in maritime security and the management of Thai - Malaysian coastal areas, Malaysia’s border control, as well as the importance of the CMWG as a mechanism to promote mutual understanding and close relations between the two navies.
 
On this occasion, the Ambassador reaffirmed the readiness of Team Thailand in Malaysia to support the Royal Thai Navy’s mission and expressed appreciation to the Office of the Naval Attaché, led by Captain Jirapong Apichatwong, Naval Attaché, for its excellent cooperation and support in ensuring the smooth and effective operations of the Royal Thai Embassy, as well as in safeguarding the interests of Thailand and the Thai people.
