On 12 November 2024, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia welcomed General Songwit Noonpackdee, Chief of Defence Forces, on his visit to Malaysia to co-chair the 38th Thailand – Malaysia High Level Committee Meeting (HLC), with his counterpart, General Tan Sri Mohammad Ab Rahman, Malaysia’s Chief of Defence Forces. Ambassador also part of the accompanying Thai delegation in the HLC meeting at Renaissance Hotel Kuala Lumpur.

 

The 38th HLC meeting presented reports on the progress of the Regional Border Committee (RBC) and the Joint Combined Exercise Committee (JCEC), as well as delegated assigned tasks on information exchange, especially in transnational crime, human trafficking, goods smuggling, and related operations to strengthen the cooperation between border agencies and related agencies of both sides, for effective border management, as well as strengthening socio-economic development and tourism cooperation in the border areas.

 

On this occasion, both Chiefs signed minutes of the 38th HLC Meeting, highlighting cyber cooperation, Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT), and Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR).
