On 21 October 2024, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia received a courtesy call by the Mutiara Perlis Sdn Bhd Executives, including Dato’ Shabaruddin Ibrahim, Group Executive Chairman and Mr. Wan Ahmad Zaheed Wan Mohamad, Group MD and CEO, at the Embassy.

 

Both sides discussed ways to promote Thailand-Malaysia economic relations, particularly logistics connectivity along both sides’ border. They also discussed the construction progress of the Company’s Perlis Inland Port (PIP), which is located in the Chuping Valley Industrial Area (CVIA) in the Northern Corridor Economic Region (NCER) of Malaysia, bordered with Songkhla province of Thailand. The PIP is expected to operate in Quarter 2/2025.

 

On this occasion, the Ambassador reiterated the Royal Thai Government’s key policy to promote seamless connectivity along both sides’ border to further enhance Thailand-Malaysia’s trade, investment and tourism.
