On 29 July 2026, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, welcomed H.E. Lieutenant General Adul Boonthumjaroen, Minister of Defence of Thailand, and the Thai delegation on the occasion of their visit to Malaysia for a meeting with Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, Minister of Defence of Malaysia.

The Ambassador joined the Minister of Defence of Thailand and the delegation in the official meeting with the Minister of Defence of Malaysia, which was conducted in a constructive and cordial atmosphere, followed by a luncheon hosted by the Minister of Defence of Malaysia.

The Thai side reaffirmed its commitment to advancing the Southern Border Provinces Peace Dialogue while ensuring the safety and security of the people, as well as promoting economic development and improving the well-being of the people in the area. Both sides also reaffirmed their shared commitment to further strengthening strategic security cooperation and agreed to enhance close coordination in intelligence sharing, border security cooperation, and support for peacebuilding efforts, for the mutual benefit of both countries.

The Ambassador, together with the Defence and Army Attaché, Naval Attaché, and Air Attaché, joined senior Malaysian officials led by the Minister of Defence of Malaysia, General Datuk Malek Razak bin Sulaiman, Chief of Defence Forces of Malaysia, and Datuk Mohd Yani bin Daud, Deputy Secretary General (Policy) of the Ministry of Defence of Malaysia, in bidding farewell and sending off the Minister of Defence of Thailand and the Thai delegation at Subang Air Base, Selangor, who departed safely for Thailand on the same day.
