The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and the Thailand Foundation are pleased to annouce the call for nominations for the nominations for the Thailand’s Public Diplomacy Award1 2025 (TPDA2025). This prestigious award, presented annually, aims to recognize individuals, groups, or organizations of Thai and/or foreign nationality who have made significant contributions to enhancing the reputation, prestige, image, and popularity of Thailand, Thais, or Thainess in the international community.

The bbjectives of the TPDA2025 are as follows: 

1. To honor individuals, groups, nominations for the Thailand’s Public Diplomacy Award1 2025 (TPDA2025). This prestigious award, presented annually, aims to recognize individuals, groups, or organizations of Thai and/or foreign nationality who have made significant contributions to enhancing the reputation, prestige, image, and popularity of Thailand, Thais, or Thainess in the international community.
2. To provide encouragement and support to award recipients, enabling them to further their endeavors and serve as exemplary models for others.
3. To foster awareness among individuals, groups, and organizations regarding their potential contribution to public diplomacy, thereby strengthening people-to-people relations.

Award Details and Nomination Guidelines: 

1. Number of Awards

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Thailand Foundation will confer up to three TDPA2025 awards to individuals, groups, or organizations of Thai and/or foreign nationality.

2. Eligible Nominators

• Individuals, groups, or organizations may nominate themselves or others. In the case of nominating others, the nominator must obtain the nominee's explicit consent
• Royal Thai Embassies, Permanent Missions, and Consulates-General are also eligible to submit nominations.

3. Award details

• Permanent inscription of the recipient's name on the "Goodwill" trophy, displayed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sri Ayudhya Road.
• Inscription of the recipient's name on a commemorative plaque at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sri Ayudhya Road.
• A replica trophy bearing the recipient's name, to be given to the recipient.
• Certificate of Recognition.
• Cash prize of 300,000 Baht per award.

4. Selection Process

The TPDA2025 Selection Subcommittee, comprising 10 members of senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Secretary-General of the Thailand Foundation, and representatives from academia, civil society, and the media, will jointly evaluate the nominees' contributions and screen suitable candidates to propose to the Thailand Foundation Committee, which will make the final decision.

5. Timeline

• Nomination period is open for three months, from the press conference day (April 23, 2025) to July 25, 2025.
• The subcommittee will conduct its evaluation in August 2025.
• The Thailand Foundation Committee will select the TPDA2025 recipients and announce the result in September 2025.
• The award ceremony will be held in November or December 2025, as deemed appropriate by the recipients, the Ministry, and the Thailand Foundation.

6. Reservation of Rights

• The decision of the Thailand Foundation Committee is final. Only the names of award recipients will be announced.
• If a recipient subsequently demonstrates inappropriate conduct, the Thailand Foundation Committee reserves the right to remove their name from the trophy and the honor plaque displayed at the Ministry.
