On 17 June 2025, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, received a courtesy call by Mr. Warakorn Brahmopala, Director General of the Department of Mineral Fuels, Ministry of Energy of Thailand and delegation along with the executives from Thailand’s PTTEP at the Royal Thai Embassy during the delegation’s visit to Malaysia to discuss energy matters with Malaysian public and private entities on 15 - 18 June 2025.

 

Both sides discussed recent developments in Thailand - Malaysia energy cooperation, for example, the Lao PDR-Thailand-Malaysia-Singapore Power Integration Project (LTMS-PIP), the ASEAN Power Grid, cooperation in the Malaysia-Thailand Joint Development Area (MTJDA) and other initiatives aimed at advancing the energy transition and strengthening energy security for both countries and ASEAN.
