On 19 February 2023 H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia welcomed Emeritus Professor Dr. Chaiwat Khamchoo, President of Thailand and ASEAN Community in Global Political Economy Course, King Prajadhipok’s Institute (KPI), who led a cohort of 31 students of the 12th Thailand and ASEAN Community in Global Political Economy Course, on their study visit to Malaysia during 19 - 21 February 2024.

 

The Royal Thai Embassy conducted a briefing session on various aspects of Thailand - Malaysia bilateral relations which was presided over by Ambassador Lada. In the welcoming remarks, the Ambassador also gave an insight on the historical background and overall Thai - Malaysia bilateral relations, including the roles and responsibilities of the Embassy and Team Thailand, especially in safeguarding and promoting national interests. Ms. Nuporn Chantavarin and Ms. Orndaporn Pewngern, First Secretaries of Royal Thai Embassy exchanged information on political and economic developments in Malaysia, as well as prospects for cooperation between the two countries.

 

The KPI participants showed interest and actively engaged in constructive discussion which has helped enhance better understanding on Thailand - Malaysia bilateral relations and developments that will be of mutual benefit to the two countries and peoples, while expressing their appreciation towards the Royal Thai Embassy for the warm welcome and cordial hospitality.
