The Royal Thai Embassy cheered for Thai badminton players in the PETRONAS Malaysia Open 2025 at Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur

On 10 January 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur attended the PETRONAS Malaysia Open 2025 to cheer for Thai badminton players. The event was organised by the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) with the endorsement from the Badminton World Federation (BWF) from 7 to 12 January 2025 at Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur.
 
The Royal Thai Embassy watched two matches: (1) the Women’s Singles where the World’s No. 16 “May” Ratchanok Intanon, defeated her opponent, ranked 17th from Indonesia; and (2) the Mixed Doubles where the World No. 57 “Bas” Dechapol Puavaranukroh and “Fame” Supissara Paewsampran, defeated their opponents, ranked 15th from France.
 
Following the matches, the Royal Thai Embassy had the opportunity to interact with the Thai shuttlers in a warm and cheerful atmosphere while supporting Thai foods to the players and officials involved in the event as part of the Embassy’s continued commitment to promoting Thai sports personnels in excelling themselves towards the international level.
 
On this occasion, the Royal Thai Embassy congratulates all Thai shuttlers who participated in the PETRONAS Malaysia Open 2025, including the Mixed Doubles “Bas/ Fame” who triumphed over the World’s No. 1 pair from China to win the championship. The Embassy also extends its best wishes to all Thai badminton players in the upcoming competitions.
