On 23 - 25 August 2024, the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, in collaboration with the Thai Students Association in Malaysia (TSAM), organised the TSAM Leadership Camp 2024 to develop the leadership skills of Thai students in Malaysia at Sedim Riverside Resort, Kedah. Mr. Thorne Thaenrattanawichit, Second Secretary, as the Embassy’s representative, presided over the opening ceremony of the Camp on 24 August 2024 and led over 40 Thai students in Malaysia to participate in a simulated team-building programme. The group also engaged in volunteer activities, including litter collection and improvement of environment at Sungai Sedim Recreational Forest, to foster students’ public mind and sense of responsibility to society.
 
On 23 August 2024, the Royal Thai Embassy and TSAM organised a Special Lecture on “Leadership, Decision Making and Uncertainty” delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bakare Kazeem Kayode, a lecturer from the School of Education and Human Sciences, Albukhary International University, focusing on fostering positive attitudes, cultivating leadership qualities, as well as developing teamwork skills.
 
On 25 August 2024, the Royal Thai Embassy and TSAM also conducted a simulated workshop whereby participants played their roles as TSAM leaders in the process of planning and presenting projects to support Thai students in Malaysia.
 
Following the Camp activity, the representative of the Embassy presided over the 2/2024 TSAM General Meeting to review the performance of the 12th TSAM Committee (current Committee), particularly the outcomes of collaborative projects with the Royal Thai Embassy, as well as discussing ways forward to prepare proposals for 2025 projects to support Thai students in Malaysia and strategies for effective collaboration.
In this regard, the Royal Thai Embassy wishes to extend our appreciation to the 12th TSAM Committee, under the leadership of Mr. Sukrit Kimklaewkarn, the 12th President of TSAM, for their dedicated efforts which contributed to the success of the collaborative projects with the Embassy and mutually benefited both the participants and the organisers. Additionally, congratulations are extended to Mr. Panas Khamcharoen who was elected the 13th President of TSAM during the 2/2024 General Meeting of TSAM.
