In the evening of 21 June 2025, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, led officials from the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur to attend the “Colours of Passion” Orchestra Performance by the Siam Sinfonietta from Thailand at Auditorium Bandaraya, Kuala Lumpur City Hall. The performance was organised by the Euroasia Association of Performing Arts in collaboration with the Kuala Lumpur City Hall as part of the Kuala Lumpur Orchestra Festival 2025 which runs from 31 May to 29 June 2025. The event was well attended by more than 500 guests.
 
“Colours of Passion” was performed by over 60 talented Thai musicians under the baton of Mr. Somtow Sucharitkul (S.P. Somtow), a renowned Thai conductor and composer who is also Thailand’s 2022 National Artist (Performing Arts) and a recipient of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and the Thailand Foundation’s 2024 Thailand’s Public Diplomacy Award (TPDA). Mr. Somtow was joined by two leading Thai conductors, Mr. Trisdee na Patalung and Mr. Woraprach Wongsathapornpat, while the performance was also graced by the participation of His Highness Tunku Zain Al-’Abidin ibni Tuanku Muhriz, son of His Royal Highness Tuanku Muhriz ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir, Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, as well as a Malaysian violinist Ms. Sha Kah Yan.
 
On this occasion, the Ambassador met and extended congratulations to Mr. Somtow, the young Thai musicians, as well as a renowned Thai novelist Thaithao Sucharitkul, commending the outstanding achievement of Mr. Somtow and the Siam Sinfonietta while reaffirming the Royal Thai Embassy’s continued support for Thai musicians in promoting Thailand’s cultural excellence and talent on the international stage.
 
The “Colours of Passion” Orchestra was also held in honour of the birthday of Her Royal Highness Tuanku Aishah Rohani binti Almarhum Tengku Besar Mahmud, Tunku Ampuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan. On this auspicious occasion, the Ambassador had the honour of welcoming the arrival of His Royal Highness Tuanku Muhriz ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir, Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan; Her Royal Highness Tunku Ampuan Besar; and members of the royal family, as well as presented a floral bouquet and conveyed best wishes for the health and happiness of Her Royal Highness.
