Prof. Emeritus Dato’ Dr. Torla Hassan, former Deputy Rector of the IIUM, and Prof. Dr. Dawood Abdulmalek Yahya Al-Hidabi, director of the International Institute for Muslim Unity at IIUM. The Holy Quran was recited by Mr. Husein Samoh, a Thai political science student at IIUM and the winner of the Toronto International Quran Competition 2019 in Canada. The event was successfully held, and filled with religious, academic and personal skills knowledge.

The Royal Thai Embassy has been organising the Iftar every year with a view to supporting religious activities of Thai Muslim students in Malaysia during the Ramadan, and strengthening their networks and unity. The activities also aim at developing public mind among the students, while equipping them with necessary skills for today’s employment demand, and enhancing their potentials as representatives and cultural diplomats of Thailand in Malaysia. The students expressed their appreciation to the Royal Thai Embassy for protecting and overseeing their well-being, and continuously organising useful activities for Thai students in Malaysia.
