On 22 - 25 August 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, in collaboration with the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs (DVIFA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, and the Thai Students Association in Malaysia (TSAM), organised the 2025 TSAM Leadership Camp and Networking Programme between Thai Youths from Southern Boder Provinces and Thai Students in Malaysia at the Embassy, famous landmarks in Kuala Lumpur, and D’ Bilut Agrofarm & Retreat in Pahang. The Programme was well participated by over 50 Thai youths, comprising those who previously participated in the DVIFA’s Training Programme at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and Thai students in Malaysia.
 
On 22 August 2025, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, presided over the Opening Ceremony of the Programme at the Thai Ambassador’s Residence. In her address, Ambassador Lada highlighted a forward role of the Embassy in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand’s ongoing efforts to advance the development of Thailand’s Southern Border Provinces, including through this Programme which was built upon the success of its inaugural launch in 2024, providing Thai youths and students in Malaysia with activities to develop leadership skills in a constructive and friendly atmosphere. In giving her words of advice, the Ambassador emphasised the importance of leveraging the knowledge and experience gained from the DVIFA’s and the Embassy’s programmes to empower themselves to become the new generation of leaders with great potentials, endowed with capabilities, competencies, virtue, and responsibility so as to serve as the nation’s source of strength and being the driving force for Thailand – Malaysia relations.
 
Following the opening ceremony, the Embassy organised a briefing session on Thailand – Malaysia relations, notably the roles and responsibilities of the Embassy in supporting Thai businesses in Malaysia and safeguarding the well-being of Thai nationals residing in the country. On this occasion, the Ambassador hosted a dinner reception for the Thai youths and students, along with the Embassy’s officials, in a warm and cordial atmosphere whereby the youths actively engaged in discussions, demonstrating their interest about the Embassy’s missions and leaving them a great impression.
 
On 23 August 2025, the Ambassador also joined the Programme’s luncheon at Ali Tom Yum Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur, where the youths and students were given the opportunity to observe and learn about the operation of Thai restaurant business, as well as the importance of the Thai community and Thai migrant workers’ networks in Malaysia.
