1. Thai Documents to be used in Malaysia

1.1 Required Documents

  1. Legalization Request Form (download here)

  2. The original Thai document or a copy of the original issued by a relevant Thai authority, accompanied by its photocopy.

  3. An official English translation of the document (if originally in the Thai language), duly certified for accuracy, along with its photocopy.

  4. A photocopy of the applicant’s Thai National ID card or passport, duly signed to certify it as a true copy.


1.2 Procedure

  1. Submit the documents listed in items (2) and (3) for first legalization by the Department of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, or at an authorized temporary passport office in Thailand.

  2. Bring documents to the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur for second legalization.

  3. Submit the documents bearing the Embassy's certification to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia (Wisma Putra) for final legalization.

  4. Once endorsed, the documents may be presented to relevant Malaysian authorities as required.


2. Malaysian Documents to be used in Thailand

2.1 Required Documents

  1. Legalization Request Form (download here)

  2. The original document in Malay or English, issued by an official Malaysian authority, along with one photocopy.

  3. An official English translation certified for accuracy (if the original is in Malay), along with one photocopy.

  4. A photocopy of the applicant’s Malaysian ID card or passport, duly signed to certify it as a true copy.


2.2 Procedure

  1. Submit the documents listed in items (2) and (3) for first legalization at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia (Wisma Putra).

  2. Bring documents to the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur for second legalization.

  3. Submit the certified documents to the Department of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, or to a temporary passport office for final legalization.

  4. Once endorsed, the documents may be used with relevant Thai government authorities.


Processing Time and Service Hours

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday (except official holidays)
from 09.30 to 12.30 hrs and 14.30 to 16.30 hrs.

 

Collection Time: 

The document will be available for collection from 14:30 to 16:30 hrs. on the following working day.

 


Legalization Fees

Legalization fee: MYR 60 per stamp (Cash only)
