เมื่อวันที่ ๖ มีนาคม ๒๕๕๘ สถานเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงกัวลาลัมเปอร์ ได้อำนวยความสะดวกให้คณะผู้บริหารมหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น นำโดยนายณรงค์ชัย อัครเศรณี รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงพลังงาน ในฐานะนายกสภามหาวิทยาลัย และนายเตช บุนนาค อุปนายกสภามหาวิทยาลัย ในโอกาสเดินทางมาหารือเพื่อเสริมสร้างความร่วมมือกับมหาวิทยาลัยมาลายา กรุงกัวลาลัมเปอร์ โดยทั้งสองฝ่ายได้เห็นพ้องที่จะขยายความร่วมมือจากในระดับคณะเป็นระดับมหาวิทยาลัย และริเริ่มการแลกเปลี่ยนนักศึกษา คณาจารย์ รวมถึงบุคลากรและนักวิจัยในสาขาต่าง ๆ

 

On 6 March 2015, the Royal Thai Embassy, Kuala Lumpur, helped facilitate cooperation building discussion between executives of Khon Kaen University (KKU), led by Mr. Narongchai Akrasanee, Minister of Energy and Chairman of KKU together with Mr. Tej Bunnag, Vice Chairman of KKU, and University of Malaya, led by Prof. Mohd Amin Jalaludin, its Vice-Chancellor. During this meeting, the two sides agreed to expand the cooperation from faculty to university level, and pursue initiatives on exchanges of students, researchers and faculty members.
