เมื่อวันที่ ๙ ธันวาคม ๒๕๕๘ นายดำรง ใคร่ครวญ เอกอัครราชทูต พร้อมด้วยคณะข้าราชการสถานเอกอัครราชทูต และทีมประเทศไทย ณ กรุงกัวลาลัมเปอร์ ได้พบปะผู้แทนชาวมาเลเซียเชื้อสายสยามที่มีถิ่นพำนักอยู่ที่กรุงกัวลาลัมเปอร์และรัฐสลังงอร์ นำโดยดาโต๊ะบุญสม สุวรรณมณี สมาชิกวุฒิสภามาเลเซีย ในโอกาสนี้ เอกอัครราชทูตฯ ได้หารือกับผู้แทนชาวสยามเกี่ยวกับการอนุรักษ์ภาษาและวัฒนธรรมไทย และเป็นเจ้าภาพเลี้ยงอาหารค่ำเพื่อเป็นเกียรติแก่ผู้แทนชาวสยามอีกด้วย

 

On 9 December 2015, H.E. Mr. Damrong Kraikruan, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, together with officials of the Royal Thai Embassy, Kuala Lumpur, met representatives of the Malaysian Siamese community in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, led by Y.Bhg. Dato' Boon Som A/L Inong, member of Dewan Negara, at the Official Residence. The two sides had an opportunity to exchange views on the work of the Embassy in promoting the conservation of Siamese language and culture in Malaysia.
