เมื่อวันที่ 27 มกราคม 2559 นายดำรง ใคร่ครวญ เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงกัวลาลัมเปอร์ ได้เข้าเยี่ยมคารวะดาโต๊ะ เซรี อัซลัน มัน มุขมนตรีแห่งรัฐปะลิส เพื่อแนะนำตัวในโอกาสเข้ารับหน้าที่ ทั้งสองได้หารือและแลกเปลี่ยนข้อคิดเห็นกันเกี่ยวกับความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างไทยกับรัฐปะลิสในฐานะรัฐที่มีพรมแดนติดต่อกับประเทศไทย (จังหวัดสตูลและสงขลา) อาทิ ประเด็นปัญหาการคมนาคมขนส่งข้ามแดน รวมถึงการพัฒนานิคมอุตสาหกรรมในจังหวัด/รัฐชายแดน อาทิ นิคมอุตสาหกรรมยางพารา และนิคมอุตสาหกรรมฮาลาล

 

On 27 January 2016, HE Mr Damrong Kraikruan, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, paid a courtesy call on YAB Dato' Seri Azlan Man, Menteri Besar of the State of Perlis, at the latter's office in Kangar, to introduce himself upon taking up his duty in Kuala Lumpur. Apart from stressing the importance of Perlis, as a border state, in the Thai-Malaysian relations, the two had an opportunity to exchange views on matters of mutual interests, such as the cross-border transport issue and the development industrial estates in the border areas, especially in the rubber-related fields and Halal economy.
