On 10 June 2019, Ambassador Narong Sasitorn paid a courtesy call on Dato' Saiful Anuar bin Lebai Hussen, Secretary General, Ministry of Econmic Affairs.

They discussed the overall cooperation between Malaysia and Thailand, especially on trade and  investment, which are close and cordial.

They also discussed 2 pending projects on Malaysia-Thailand border connectivity which should be the top priorities for both sides. First is the construction of a road to link the Bukit Kayu Hitam ICQS to a new checkpoint in Sadao which is expected to be completed by the end of this year. Second is the building of a bridge to connect Takbai in Narathiwat to Pengkalan Kubor in Tumpat, Kelantan, and expansion of the Sungai Golok Bridge which links Rantau Panjang, Pasir Mas, with Sungai Golok, also in Narathiwat.
