On 14 May 2025, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia was invited to the Closing Gala Dinner of the ASEAN Co-operative Dialogue 2025 (ACD2025), organized by the ASEAN Co-operative Organization (ACO) together with the Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives and ANGKASA, Malaysia, under the theme “Cooperatives Build A Better World”, at Sunway Resort Hotel, Selangor.
At the Dinner, YBhg. Datuk Seri Dr. Abduk Fattah Abdullah, President of ANGKASA and ASEAN Co-operative Organization (ACO)/ Vice President of ICA-Asia Pacific addressed welcoming remarks, followed by an inauguration address by YB Dato’ Sri Ramanan Ramakrishnan, Deputy Minister of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives of Malaysia, reaffirming Malaysia’s determination to advance the role of cooperatives in ASEAN, which would help push forward sustainable economic growth and social development. The ACD2025 was convened in conjunction with the 2025 International Year of Cooperatives, announced by the United Nations.
On this occasion, the Ambassador met with the Thai delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives of Thailand, who participated as panelists in the panel session “Stronger Together: How Cooperatives Make ASEAN A Better Place by Eradicating Poverty” during the ACD2025 during 12 - 14 May 2025, as well as Mr. Poramate Intarachumnum, Chairman of the Cooperative Movement of Thailand (CLT).
