On 1 July 2025, Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, attended the opening ceremony of Food & Drinks Malaysia by SIAL 2025 (FDM 2025) at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur. The ceremony was presided over by YB Datuk Chan Foong Hin, Deputy Minister of Plantation and Commodities, and was welcomed by Mr. Henri Tan, Exhibition Director of COMEXPOSIUM Asia Pacific.
During the ceremony, the Ambassador extended her congratulations to the Thai companies supported by the National Innovation Agency (NIA) that received “SIAL Innovation” awards. Muzarium Co., Ltd. from Songkhla Province was awarded First Runner-up for its innovative cereal made from banana flour, “MusaWa Puffs.” Meanwhile, Milk Plus & More Co., Ltd. from Pathum Thani Province was recognized as a Top-10 Finalist for its innovative banana-blossom beverage extract.
Following the opening ceremony, the Deputy Minister visited the Thai Pavilion and observed a Thai culinary demonstration, accompanied by the Ambassador and the Director of the Thai Trade Center in Kuala Lumpur.
Thailand is participating in FDM for the 3rd consecutive year, and representing the 2nd year of the National Innovation Agency’s participation. This year’s Thai exhibitors include Thai entrepreneurs, the Thai trade Association of Cacao and Chocolate (TACCO), leading Thai importers in Malaysia, CPF Malaysia and Sappe Public Company Limited, which received notable attention from local and international attendees.
