On 13 February 2026, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, was invited to attend a Farewell Luncheon in honour of H.E. Mr. Edgard D. Kagan, Ambassador of the United States of America to Malaysia, on the occasion of the completion of his tenure. The luncheon was hosted by Dato Lukanisman bin Awang Sauni, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia. Distinguished guests included H.E. Mrs. Florence Buerki Akonor, Ambassador of Ghana to Malaysia, Dato’ Sri Amran Mohamed Zin, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, Ambassador Ikram bin Mohd Ibrahim, Chief of Protocol, Ambassador Nur Azman Abdul Rahim, Undersecretary of the Americas Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, Mr. David Gamble, Deputy Chief of Mission of the United States Embassy in Malaysia, as well as representatives of the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

 

On this occasion, Ambassador Lada expressed appreciation to the Ambassador of the United States for the close cooperation and collaboration throughout his tenure, particularly during Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2025. She also reaffirmed the readiness of the Royal Thai Embassy to continue working closely with the United States Embassy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia to further advance shared interests.
