On 4 September 2024, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, hosted a farewell lunch for Datuk Mohd Aini Atan, Chief of Protocol, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, at Parathai Restaurant in Putrajaya, on the occasion of Datuk Mohd Aini Atan’s upcoming assumption of duty as Ambassador of Malaysia to Brunei Darussalam.
 
Ambassador Lada expressed her appreciation to the Chief of Protocol for his roles in enhancing Thailand – Malaysia relations, particularly in collaborating and supporting the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur during the high-level exchange of visits, ceremonial functions, as well as his cooperation on consular protection for Thai nationals residing in Malaysia. The Ambassador also thanked the Chief of Protocol for goodwill, cooperation and friendship from both himself and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia.
 
The Chief of Protocol commended the Ambassador for her active contributions and excellent cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, which have resulted in various notable achievements and thus strengthening the foundation for further development of Thailand – Malaysia relations.
 
Datuk Mohd Aini Atan previously served as the Consul-General of Malaysia in Songkhla before being appointed as the Chief of Protocol. He has been regarded as one of the important friends of Thailand.
