On 2 April 2025, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia hosted a luncheon and meeting with foreign ambassadors to Malaysia, namely H.E. Krzysztof Dariusz Dobrowolski, Ambassador of Poland; H.E. Dr. Mariyam Shabeena Ahmed, Ambassador of the Maldives; H.E. Thepthavone Sengmany, Ambassador of Lao PDR; H.E. Marta Laura Gabrieloni, Ambassador of Argentina; H.E. Radames Jesus Gomez Azuaje, Ambassador of Venezuela to Malaysia and Ambassador of Venezuela to Thailand, with residence in Kuala Lumpur; H.E. Irakli Asashvili, Ambassador of Georgia; H.E. Daniella Ortega de Paiva Menezes, Ambassador of Brazil; H.E. Dr. Sándor Sipos, Ambassador of Hungary; H.E. Peter Spišiak, Ambassador of Slovakia; and H.E. Raden Mohammad Iman Hascarya Kusumo, Ambassador of Indonesia, at the Thai Ambassador’s Residence.

 

Ambassador Lada congratulated the Ambassadors of Venezuela, Georgia, Brazil, Hungary, Slovakia, and Indonesia on their appointments as ambassadors to Malaysia in 2025. She emphasized the continuity of Thailand’s foreign policy and the readiness to cooperate with the foreign diplomatic community in Malaysia to advance shared interests, particularly on addressing online scams. The meeting also provided an opportunity for exchanging information and views on regional and international developments of mutual interest, including the situation in Myanmar, Thailand – Malaysia connectivity, as well as the promotion of cultural heritage and people-to-people relations.

 

The discussions were constructive, fostering good cooperation among all participating ambassadors and their missions, and facilitating friendly exchanges and joint initiatives in the host country, Malaysia. All ambassadors commended the beauty of Thailand’s soft power, reflected in the exquisite Thai cuisine that showcased meticulous preparation and unique flavors, as well as the warm and memorable hospitality extended during the gathering.
