On 16 May 2025, H.E. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia hosted a farewell dinner for H.E. Aung Soe Win, the Ambassador-designate of Myanmar upon his completion of duty in Malaysia. H.E. Ouk Chandara, the Ambassador of Cambodia; H.E. Dinh Ngoc Linh, the Ambassador of Viet Nam; and H.E. Thepthavone Sengmany, the Ambassador of Lao PDR were invited to bid the farewell, forming CLMVT cordial relations in Malaysia, with participation of their respective spouses, at the Thai Residence.
Ambassador Lada expressed her gratitude for Ambassador Aung Soe Win and Madam Khin Myo Thwe for their friendship and continuous cooperation to the past activities hosted by the Royal Thai Embassy, including the ASEAN Ladies’ Circle (ALC) in Kuala Lumpur’s activities, particularly the successful ALC Fashion Gala: Threading ASEAN Unity through Kebaya & Sarong, which illustrated close collaboration and constructive roles among all ASEAN Embassies in KL, and with full support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia.
Ambassador Aung Soe Win thanked Ambassador Lada for the Thai hospitality and friendship, spoked highly of her active roles and success in strengthening cordial relations with relevant stakeholders in Malaysia, reiterated also that Thailand remains Myanmar’s important neighbouring country. The Ambassador also thanked the Ambassador of Cambodia, Lao PDR and Viet Nam for their friendship. All have cherished the Ambassador’s mission during his stay in Malaysia and this friendship continued to be memorable.
This farewell dinner gathering amplified love, friendship, understanding and best wishes to each other. All also enjoyed the taste of Thai foods and desserts in a cordial atmosphere. Meanwhile, the Ambassadors took this opportunity to exchange information on Malaysia’s preparation for the upcoming 46th ASEAN Summit and Related Meetings on 26 - 27 May 2025 in Kuala Lumpur.
