On 2 October 2026, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, chaired the 1/2027 Team Thailand Meeting at the meeting room, Royal Thai Embassy, attended by Ms. Suratchaya Palawongse, Deputy Consul-General and Acting Consul-General of Thailand in Penang, (via videoconference), Lieutenant Gunpirom Vichathorn, Deputy Consul-General of Thailand in Kota Bharu, Office of the Defence Attaché, Office of the Naval Attaché, Office of the Air Attaché, Office of the Police Liaison, Office of Commercial Affairs, Office of Labour Affairs, Tourism Authority of Thailand, and the Embassy’s officials.

The Team Thailand Meeting marked the first meeting of the Fiscal Year 2027. The meeting reviewed (1) the Thailand Team’s performance during the Fiscal Year 2026, including relevant recommendations, as well as the continuation of projects and activities initiated in the previous fiscal year, covering the full range of the Team Thailand’s mandate and (2) discussed the work plan for the Fiscal Year 2027, under which the Embassy plans to further enhance its activities across various areas. In addition, the Embassy is preparing a series of public diplomacy and symbolic activities to commemorate the 70^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Malaysia.

The Team Thailand Meeting is convened regularly to promote greater coordination and integration among Thai agencies in Malaysia, with a view to ensuring a coherent and unified approach in advancing Thailand’s interests and delivering tangible outcomes for the benefit of Thailand and the Thai people. On this occasion, the Embassy also bid farewell to (1) Captain Jirapong Apichatwong (RTN.), Naval Attaché, (2) Flight Sergeant First Class Atharot Intaramanee, Technical and Administrative Staff, Office of the Air Attaché, upon the completion of duty, as well as Ms. Jarinya Aphaiwongse, Senior Advisor, Strategic and Planning, PTTEP Malaysia Asset, and welcomed the new arrival of (1) Lieutenant Gunpirom Vichathorn, Deputy Consul-General of Thailand in Kota Bharu, (2) Captain Chaidej Bunnag (RTN.), the Naval Attaché, (3) Flight Sergeant First Class Thorn Praksee, Technical and Administrative Staff, Office of the Air Attaché, and (4) Mr. Samithi Sirisak, Counsellor (Commercial) and Deputy Director of Thai Trade Center.
