Ambassador hosts a farewell dinner for Foreign Ambassadors to Malaysia

On 20 July 2026, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, hosted a farewell dinner at the Ambassador’s Residence in honour of foreign ambassadors to Malaysia who will soon complete their diplomatic assignments, including (1) H.E. Mr. Bulat Sugurbayev, Ambassador of Kazakhstan; (2) H.E. Mr. Irfan Davudov, Ambassador of Azerbaijan; (3) H.E. Mr. Jacques Werner, Ambassador of the Netherlands, and spouse; (4) H.E. Mr. Peter Van Acker, Ambassador of Belgium, and spouse; (5) H.E. Mr. Yeo Seungbae, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, and spouse; (6) H.E. Mr. Rashed Mohammed Rashed Al Saleh, Ambassador of Kuwait; and (7) H.E. Ms. Marta Laura Gabrieloni, Ambassador of Argentina. Also in attendance were H.E. Ms. Constance Chemwayi, Ambassador of Zimbabwe to Malaysia and Ambassador of Zimbabwe to Thailand, with residence in Kuala Lumpur; H.E. Mr. Jaime Alexis Munoz Sandoval, Ambassador of Chile; H.E. Dr. Ismael Maddallah Suliman Maaytah, Ambassador of Jordan; H.E. Dr. Mariyam Shabeena Ahmed, Ambassador of the Maldives; H.E. Mr. Luis Javier Campuzano Piña, Ambassador of Mexico; H.E. Mr. Thepthavone Sengmany, Ambassador of the Lao PDR; H.E. Mr. Radamés Jesús Gómez Azuaje, Ambassador of Venezuela to Malaysia and Ambassador of Venezuela to Thailand, with residence in Kuala Lumpur; H.E. Ms. Chantal Moser, Ambassador of Switzerland; H.E. Mr. Irakli Asashvili, Ambassador of Georgia; and H.E. Mr. Maher Kheir, Ambassador of Lebanon.

On this occasion, the Ambassador expressed her sincere appreciation to the departing ambassadors for their warm friendship, close cooperation, and constructive support for the Embassy’s activities throughout their respective tenures in Malaysia. She also reaffirmed the Royal Thai Embassy’s commitment to working closely with all diplomatic missions in Kuala Lumpur to further promote shared interests and strengthen cooperation.

All ambassadors expressed their appreciation for the Ambassador’s friendship and close collaboration, noting that they would always cherish the cordial relationships built during their postings. They also commended her proactive and dynamic leadership and the significant achievements of the Royal Thai Embassy under her tenure, while reaffirming their readiness to continue fostering close relations with Thailand at all levels.

The dinner was held in a warm and cordial atmosphere. Guests were deeply impressed by the Royal Thai Embassy’s gracious Thai hospitality and the friendship shared among members of the diplomatic corps. They also highly appreciated Thailand’s soft power, reflected through exquisitely prepared Thai cuisine and desserts as well as Thai music, which showcased Thailand’s rich cultural identity and refinement, further strengthened friendship and cooperation among the diplomatic community in Kuala Lumpur and reinforced their commitment to working closely together in the host country, Malaysia.
