On 9 March 2026, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, was invited to attend the Launching Ceremony of “Malaysia’s Capital Market Masterplan 2026 - 2030”, organised by the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) at the SC Headquarters in Kuala Lumpur. YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia, presided over the Ceremony, while Dato’ Mohammad Faiz Azmi, Chairman of SC, delivered a welcoming address. The Ceremony was well-attended by Malaysia’s cabinet ministers and senior officials such as YB Senator Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan, Minister of Finance II; YB Senator Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan, Minister of Digital; and Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Haji Shamsul Azri bin Abu Bakar, Chief Secretary to the Government; as well as the diplomatic corps in Malaysia, invited guests and media, with a total of more than 500 participants.
 
Ambassador met with the cabinet ministers and senior government officials of Malaysia, and attended the keynote address, whereby the Prime Minister of Malaysia highlighted the importance of widening the pipeline for Malaysian companies’ participation in the public markets, promoting the application of Islamic Finance, mobilising funding through the Social Exchange Platform, and strengthening the role of the capital market in driving sustainable economic growth, among others.
 
The Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) and the Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand (SEC) maintain close cooperation under the framework of the ASEAN Capital Markets Forum (ACMF) where Thailand serves as the Chair of the ACMF Working Group on Collective Investment Schemes and Digital Asset Supervision, while Malaysia chairs the ACMF Working Group on Sustainable Finance.
