On 10 July 2024, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia joined the Thai delegation led by Prof. Dr. Narumon Pinyosinwat, Advisor to the Prime Minister/Thai Trade Representative to call on YB Datuk Seri Johari Bin Abdul Ghani, Minister of Plantation and Commodities of Malaysia at the Malaysian Rubber Board (MRB) Office, Kuala Lumpur. Also present were the management and officials from both sides including the Rubber Authority of Thailand (RAOT), led by Mr. Perk Lertwangpon, PhD., RAOT Chairman of Board, and Mr. Kosol Boonkong, RAOT Deputy Governor, and the Ministry of Plantation and Commodities of Malaysia and the MRB.

 

Both sides expressed readiness to enhance bilateral relations and economic cooperation in the rubber industry to jointly strengthen and further develop the industry to meet the global sustainability standards. Among others, these include, the development of traceability system according to the EUDR (EU Deforestation Regulation), the exchange of knowledge and information to improve supply chain of the rubber industry in the long term.
