On 28 August 2026, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, paid a courtesy call on Dato’ Dr. Ahmad Faisal Muhamad, Deputy Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia responsible for Multilateral Affairs, to congratulate him on his new appointment, as well as to extend her congratulations on the occasion of Malaysia’s National Day on 31 August 2026, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, Putrajaya.

Both sides exchanged information and views on Thailand - Malaysia cooperation in multilateral frameworks, including ASEAN, BRICS, and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest, including the situation in Myanmar and the Thailand - Cambodia situation. They also discussed mutual support in international organisations, as well as the situation in Thailand’s Southern Border Provinces.

The discussion was conducted in a cordial atmosphere, with both sides reaffirming their readiness to work closely together to promote Thailand - Malaysia cooperation at both the bilateral and multilateral levels, as well as to maintain the cordial relations between the Royal Thai Embassy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, with a view to further advancing relations and cooperation between the two countries.
