On 6 May 2025, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, met with Hon. Mr. Romtham Khumnurak, Member of the House of Representatives, and Hon. Mr. Eakchai Ruangrat, Member of the Senate, along with the Thai delegation on their visit to Malaysia to attend the 2nd Consultative Meeting of Young Parliamentarians of ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (YPA) under the theme “Ensuring ASEAN's Future: Youth in Action for Sustainability and Inclusivity,” held from 5 to 8 May 2025. The meeting was organized by the Parliament of Malaysia during Malaysia's chairmanship of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) for the year 2025 at the Wyndham Acmar Hotel in Klang, Selangor.

 

The Ambassador and the Thai delegation attended the Official Dinner of the YPA Meeting, hosted by YB Lau Weng San, Speaker of the Selangor State Legislative Assembly. Tan Sri Dato' (Dr.) Johari Bin Abdul, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Malaysia, Ar. Siti Rozaimeriyanty Dato Haji Abdul Rahman, Secretary-General of AIPA, delegations from ASEAN member countries, and ASEAN Ambassadors to Malaysia participated in the cordial atmosphere.

 

On this occasion, the Ambassador exchanged information with the Thai delegation regarding Malaysia's economic developments and the dynamic relationship between Thailand and Malaysia. She also talked to the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Malaysia, emphasizing the support for close cooperation between the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur and the Malaysian House of Representatives.
