On 9 May 2024, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, was invited to the opening session of the National Economic Forum (NEF) 2024, hosted by the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (NCCIM) at One World Hotel, Petaling Jaya, following the courtesy visit by Tan Sri Dato’ Soh Thian Lai, President of NCCIM, at the Royal Thai Embassy, earlier this month.

President of NCCIM delivered opening remarks, highlighting the development of NCCIM and NEF, which was traditionally a biennial event now transitioning to an annual format, attracting more than 500 participants from various industries to discuss and provide inputs on Malaysia’s economic and business environment. Datuk Dr. Zunika binti Mohamed, Deputy Secretary General (Policy), who represented YB Tuan Mohd Rafizi bin Ramli, Minister of Economy of Malaysia, reiterated the Ministry’s efforts to undertake relevant plans and measures which would help navigate Malaysia to new growth frontiers as previously presented during the KL20 Summit 2024 and National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR).

Ambassador joined foreign Ambassadors in Kuala Lumpur in support of NCCIM, hoping the NEF 2024 under theme “Strategic Innovation & Global Alliances: Propelling Malaysia to the Forefront of the Global Economy” will yield fruitful outcomes connecting the business sector in Malaysia to engage constructively with relevant authorities of the government of Malaysia.
